The Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals (AAESP) is sponsoring the "Aspiring Principals Workshop” at five separate regional locations around the state.

4 workshops will be available on Friday, February 24. The workshop in the South Arkansas region will be provided on Friday, March 3.

The Aspiring Principal Workshop is designed to provide an overview of the principalship to those individuals who are considering a career in Pre K-12 school administration. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at each location with the workshop beginning at 8:30. The day’s activities will conclude at 3:00 p.m.

Being mindful of the high number of retirements among the ranks of school principals in the state during the next five to ten years, the AAEA/AAESP Board of Directors offers this opportunity to encourage quality educators to enter the principalship. The content of the day will be based on information from the National Association of Elementary School Principals “Previewing the 21st Century Principalship” program. One special component of the program will be a panel discussion featuring national distinguished principals from elementary, middle, high school and other key state leaders. Professional development credit will be given.

Registration fee for the workshop is $50.00 and includes all workshop materials and refreshments.  Onsite registration will be $60.00.

 

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS - Individuals registering for the Aspiring Principal Conference may click on this link:  

  • If you are a member or have attended an AAEA event in the past, please enter your Username and Password, click on "Sign In" in black box. 
  • If you are not a member or have not attended an AAEA event, please click on the “Haven’t Registered Yet?” Select “Non-Member Event Attendee” as your member type and continue.
  • Follow the links.
  • After completing registration, you will be asked to complete payment information. You may select Bill Me, Check/Money Order, or if you wish to pay at time of registration, Credit Card. If you select Bill Me or Check/Money Order, please be sure to print the invoice and give it to the business department. We WILL NOT bill the district.
  • After completing the payment option, please confirm. The next screen will be a summary of your registration. Click on “Complete”. This is the final process of your registration.

 NOTE:  Online registration is used by AAEA for all conferences and certification classes. By setting up an account/profile, it allows for easy access and monitoring of contact information, immediately generates invoices of events and tracts attendance for professional development and certification documentation. The system allows you to log on and track/print your professional development, certification progress, invoices and update you professional information. 

 

Cancellations must be submitted no later than 5 business days before the day of the workshop to Marty Smith - m.smith@theaaea.org . Requests for refunds received after the workshop will not be honored.
