The State Board of Education approved the Department's ESEA Flexibility request that will be sent to the USDOE towards the end of the month.
Click here to access a copy of the presentation. As you can see from the proposal, there will be many changes to our accountability system. I would caution you that the state proposal will very likely be modified after meeting with the peer reviewers and before the final version is sent to the USDOE.
A few of the changes included in the waiver are: identifying schools by a comprehensive system (DARTSS), identifying subpopulation groups through TAGG, decreasing paperwork for those meeting target levels. There are many other changes as well, but again, this plan will very likely change before final approval.
